Calcutta: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly Wednesday said he was open to playing for Bengal in the domestic one-day tournaments but wouldn’t take part in the longer version of the game in the Ranji Trophy.
“I have plans to play one-day matches for Bengal. It will help me keep fit and get me ready for the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, I will not be playing the longer format,” Sourav said at a promotional in the city.
When asked about his plans for the IPL’s third edition, he said, “We will see how it goes. and how the Knight Riders think tank plan out the next season.”
Sourav also shrugged off the controversies surrounding the Knights this time, as he said: “There was a controversy in the first edition of the IPL also… But don’t ask me what it was because then it would be another controversy. With the media getting involved in a much wider range, there will be controversies.”
